Abstract
Since its foundation in 1993, the HAIT has developed into ‘an important source of inspiration for contemporary historical and political science research with its work on political systems of rule in the 20th and early 21st centuries’, as the German Science and Humanities Council (Wissenschaftsrat) emphasised in its 2020 statement. A unique feature is the combination of historical and political science approaches in research.
